'Woodals' for First, Second and Third Place in Each Division
What’s a woodal!?
The Inlet Spring Regatta is unique in that we have carved wooden medals, that one of our fans dubbed in our first year, “a woodal." They are created by Beyond Mars Trophies. It features our logo, which is the kingfisher bird, and was created and gifted by First Nation artist, Glen Rabena.
Woodals are presented for first, second and third place in every race division of the Inlet Spring Regatta. Our divisions are named after birds of the Inlet: Kingfisher, Eagle, Osprey, Heron, Hummingbird, Hawk, Kingfisher, Eagle, Osprey, and Heron.
Please note that we do not announce our results right after each final race, so we hope you will stick around to accept your team’s winnings and pose for a photo against our natural backdrop of the mountains and water in front of the boat launch area adjacent to the gazebo and Rocky Point Pier.
“So well organized, from the parking attendants lining us up neatly in rows, the dock crew there to help new steers, the announcer and music, the photos, tent assignments all laid out, race mgmt, fun, fast-paced day, beautiful location and we won a lovely hand made wooden medal!! Well done Nothin’ Dragon!” - Heather Trenholm
